Stephanie Hogen is a Reno fine-art photographer with volumes of stunning work. In a career spanning 30 years, Hogen has immersed herself in the intricacies of black-and-white photography, exploring and embracing its inherently limitless nature. Hogen’ s sublime silver gelatin platinum prints were included in The Body Collection at the Musee du Louvre, along with a book accompanying the exhibit, in 2015.
From New York City, to Southern California, to the expansive vistas of Nevada, her work is in permanent collections and publications, including Churchill Arts Council’s “Sierra Great Basin” and Truckee Meadows Community College’s “The Meadow”. A grant recipient of the Sierra Arts Foundation, the Ultimate Eye Foundation, and the Nevada Arts Council, Hogen’s work is slated to appear in the October issue of Black & White Magazine.
Navigating the boundaries between timely and timeless, Hogen reshapes classic themes with a unique sensibility. With a spectrum of photographs – from black-and-white, to hand-tinted, to digital, and sensuous platinum-n-watercolor paper – Stephanie Hogen’s fine-art photographs portray nuances in creative, at times abstract designs, drawing viewers in, and transcending the ordinary.
